There once was a king who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The king looked at all the pictures. But there were only two be really liked, and he had to choose between them. One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror for peaceful towering mountains all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.
The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky, from which rain fell and in which lightning played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all.
But when the king looked closely, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the bush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest----in perfect peace.
Which picture do you think won the prize? The king chose the second picture. Do you know why?
“Because,” explained the king, “peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace.”

One fine day, an old couple around the age of 70, walks into a lawyer's office. Apparently, they are there to file a porce. Lawyer was very puzzled, after having a chat with them, he got their story.
This couple had been quarreling all their 40 over years of marriage nothing ever seems to go right.
They hang on because of their children, afraid that it might affect their up-bringing. Now, all their children have already grown up, have their own family, there's nothing else the old couple have to worry about, all they wanted is to lead their own life free from all these years of unhappiness from their marriage, so both agree on a porce.
Lawyer was having a hard time trying to get the papers done, because he felt that after 40 years of marriage at the age of 70, he couldn't understand why the old couple would still wants a porce.
While they were signing the papers, the wife told the husband. “I really love you, but I really can't carry on anymore, I'm sorry.”
"It's OK, I understand." said the husband. Looking at this, the lawyer suggested a dinner together, just three of them, wife thought, why not, since they are still going be friends.
At the dining table, there was a silence of awkwardness.
The first dish was roasted chicken, immediately, the old man took the drumstick for the old lady. "Take this, it's your favorite."
Looking at this, the lawyer thought maybe there's still a chance, but the wife was frowning when she answer. "This is always the problem, you always think so highly of yourself, never thought about how I feel, don't you know that I hate drumsticks?”
Little did she know that, over the years, the husband have been trying all ways to please her, little did she know that drumsticks was the husband's favorite.
Little did he know that she never thought he understand her at all, little did he know that she hates drumsticks even though all he wants is the best for her.

當(dāng)他們忙碌著簽定離婚書(shū)時(shí)，老太太告訴老頭子說(shuō)：“我啊，心里還有著你，只是受不了跟你一起生活下去了，我也沒(méi)有招啊。”
老頭子接話說(shuō)：“誒啊，沒(méi)啥，我也明白。”眼見(jiàn)著這老兩口說(shuō)著話，律師提議仨人一起去吃頓便飯。老太太想了想，‘買(mǎi)賣(mài)不成仁義在’，自己干嗎不去呢?
大家圍坐一起吃的時(shí)候呢，桌面上到是多了那么點(diǎn)尷尬味道。
第一道菜是烤雞，菜剛上桌，馬上老頭一邊夾了個(gè)雞腿給老太太一邊嘴里說(shuō)著“來(lái)，平常你最?lèi)?ài)吃這個(gè)。”
律師眼看著老頭一舉一動(dòng)，心想這老兩口可能還有復(fù)合的可能。哪知道一旁老太太不干了，眼眉挑了起來(lái)。
嘴里頭念叨“你看你，我最煩你這樣，你總是想干啥干啥，從來(lái)不問(wèn)別人，你不知道我不愛(ài)吃這玩意么?”
老太太哪里知道，這么多年走過(guò)來(lái)，老頭一直花心思想讓老伴心里頭暖和，也不知道其實(shí)老頭嘴最喜歡的就是這雞腿。
老頭那里知道一直以來(lái)老太太看不上自己所做的事，也不知道自己最?lèi)?ài)吃的東西夾給老伴后反倒會(huì)讓她不高興。
那天晚上這倆人都覺(jué)得心里不塌實(shí)，在床上翻來(lái)復(fù)去。許久過(guò)后，老頭心里癢癢，他明白自己心里還是惦記著老伴，自己這輩子沒(méi)她不行，他得跟老伴重歸于好，他得讓老太太知道自己‘老頭疼她’的想法。
老頭拿起了話筒，開(kāi)始撥老伴的號(hào)碼，電話那邊一直在響，老頭也一直在撥號(hào)。
另一邊呢，老太太心里也不好受，她也想不明白這么多年過(guò)去了，老頭雜還不明白自己的心思呢。她心里也疼老伴，但是她就是跟老頭過(guò)不下去了。電話零聲響個(gè)不停，她知道是老頭打過(guò)來(lái)地，可是就沒(méi)去接聽(tīng)，因?yàn)椴恢滥闷饋?lái)時(shí)候跟老頭說(shuō)些啥好呢。“都過(guò)去了，我本來(lái)就想這么辦的，現(xiàn)在我就該一直這么做下去，不然太丟老臉了。”
老太太這樣固執(zhí)著卻忘了老頭心臟不太好。
第二天時(shí)候，老太太聽(tīng)到信了，老頭昨天夜里過(guò)世了。她急沖沖趕了過(guò)去，看到老頭臨走時(shí)趟在沙發(fā)上，手里還握著電話。一定是在給她撥電話號(hào)碼的時(shí)候，老頭心臟病犯了。
老太太內(nèi)心十分悲傷。她得為老頭收拾身后事。當(dāng)她打開(kāi)老頭的抽屜時(shí)，她看到了老頭留下的保險(xiǎn)單，那是在他們結(jié)婚時(shí)簽的，受益人是她。而且在保險(xiǎn)單中夾著一張便條。
“留給我最最親愛(ài)的老伴，當(dāng)你讀到這張字條的時(shí)候，我相信我已不在人世了。我給你買(mǎi)了這份保險(xiǎn)，雖然只有十萬(wàn)元錢(qián)，我希望它能幫我完成當(dāng)初我娶你的時(shí)候許下的承諾。我也許不在了，我希望能夠用這些錢(qián)照顧你，就如同我還活著那般照顧你。我想讓你知道我會(huì)一直在你身邊。我愛(ài)著你......”

A little boy asked his mother: “Why are you crying?”
“Because I am a woman.” She told him.
“I don’t understand” he said.
His mum just hugged him and said: “And you never will.”
Later the little boy asked his father: “ Why does mother seem to cry for no reason?”
“All woman cry for no reason.” Was all his dad could say.
The little boy grow up and became a man, still wondering why women cry.
Finally he put in a call to God, when God got on the phone, he asked, “God, why do women cry so easily?”
God said: “ When I made the women, she had to be special. I made her shoulders strong enough to carry the weight of the world; yet, gentle enough to give comfort.
I gave her inner strength to endure childbirth, and the rejections many times comes from her children.
I gave her hardness that allows her to keep going when everyone else gives up, and take care of her family through sickness and fatigue without complains.
“I gave her the sensitivity to love her children under any and all circumstances, even her children has hurt her very badly.
“I gave her strength to carry her husband through his faults and fashioned her from his rib to protect his heart.”
“I gave her the wisdom to know that a good husband never hurts his wife, but sometimes tests her strength and resolve to stand beside him unfalteringly.”
“And finally, I gave her a tear to shed. That is her exclusively to use whenever it is needed.”
“You see the beauty of a women is not the clothes she wears, the figure she carries, or the way she combs her hair.”
